PURPOSE: An apparatus for driving an inverter lamp is provided to reduce manufacturing cost by configuring a single stage circuit with a switch. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for driving an inverter lamp comprises a transformer for inducing an input voltage of a primary side to a secondary side, and a cold cathode fluorescent lamp. A capacitor is charged by energy stored at the primary of the transformer, and realizes an LC resonance circuit with the primary side of the transformer. A switch is connected to the primary side of the transformer and performs charging energy to the primary side of the transformer when on status. The switch emits charge stored at the capacitor when off status.
