PURPOSE: An image-using telephone set usable by an auditorily handicapped person is provided to transmit only data of video signals, when a button for auditorily handicapped persons is installed in a predetermined part of the telephone set and pressed, so as to transmit an image more rapidly and prevent the distortion of the image. CONSTITUTION: A telephone set to which a terminal diagram using an H.324 protocol is applied is connected to a monitor of a TV, and enables image communication through the connected TV monitor. In the telephone set, a video input and output unit(500) receives video input/output signals from an external. A video codec unit(520) encodes and decodes data of the video signals compressed from the video input and output unit. A modem(modulation-demodulation) unit(540) modulates and demodulates the data of the video signals from the video codec unit. And a network unit(560) is connected to the modem unit with a general public line.
