PURPOSE: Provided is a method for the production of ginsenoside F2 by an enzymatic process to inhibit the proliferation of oncocytes and to prevent multidrug resistance in oncocytes or bacteria. CONSTITUTION: The method for the production of ginsenoside F2 comprises the steps of: dissolving diol saponin in a water-soluble solvent or a mixed solution of a water-soluble solvent and an organic solvent; adding an enzyme isolated from Aspergillus sp., thereto; reacting them in a water container with stirring and heating; subjecting the reaction solution to thin layer chromatography periodically, if a substrate is disappeared therefrom, finishing the reaction by heating it in hot water; loading the reaction solution to ion exchange resin column and washing it with distilled water to remove the enzyme and saccharides; and eluting reaction products with an organic solvent then concentrating the eluate to obtain powdery reaction products which contain high concentration of ginsenoside F2 represented by the formula(I).
