PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve processing for recording stream information. SOLUTION: A stream information processing system employs an information medium that has a data area to store stream data subjected to MPEG(Moving Picture Expert Group) encoding and a management area to store management information with respect to the stream data. The stream data includes data packets (transport packets #1 or the like) having I picture information (I picture a information 7 or the like) and time stamp information (PTS/ATS). Furthermore, the management information includes time relation information (time relation table 2) denoting a relation between start time information (I picture transfer start time 4 or the like) of a part of the stream data corresponding to the I picture information and the time stamp information (PTS/ATS).
