PLUNGER TIP USED IN DIE CASTING PROCESS

PURPOSE: A plunger tip is provided to improve the thermal conductivity and endurance thereof with reducing the manufacturing cost by depositing a copper alloy or a copper alloy layer on an outer portion of the plunger tip. CONSTITUTION: A stepped portion(14) is protruded from one side of a plunger. A screw hole(15) and an insertion hole(16) are formed at an inner portion of a plunger tip(10). A plunger rod(18) is inserted into the screw hole(15) and the insertion hole(16), so the plunger tip(10) reciprocates within a cylinder when the plunger rod(18) moves. The plunger tip(10) is made of a copper alloy having a low strength and superior thermal conductivity. By using the copper alloy, the hardness of the plunger tip(10) is increased and the erosion of the plunger tip(10) is reduced when the plunger tip(10) reciprocates within the cylinder.
