PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a grid body for a lead acid battery with improved mechanical strength of an expanded metal grid body. SOLUTION: A Pb-Ca system expanded grid body 3 with an expanded inner bone 2 integrally fitted between a parallel pair of frame bones 1a, 1b are cut off in the direction crossing the frame bones 1a, 1b, and a later-fitted frame bone 7 is arranged at a cutting end 3a of each side of the expanded grid body 3. The later-fitted frame bones 7 are integrally bonded to at least the frame bones 1a, 1b of the expanded grid body 3.
