PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high bromide silver halide emulsion with a photographic property better than a gelatine peptizing agent. SOLUTION: In a method of precipitating the high bromide silver halide emulsion in an aqueous medium, nucleated silver halide particles are grown in a reacting container in the presence of a peptizing agent containing a water dispersible starch, radiation sensitive high bromide silver halide particles are formed, and a major part of particle growth in the reacting container is carried out under a condition of pH less than 3.5.
