MAGNETIC TONER, AND DEVELOPING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic toner more excellent in developing performance than a spherical magnetic toner and a developing method by which good development is carried out. SOLUTION: In the developing method in which a developer layer using a one-component magnetic toner is formed on the surface of a developer carrying support and a latent image on an image support placed opposite to the developer carrying support is developed while applying development bias, the magnetic toner is a flat magnetic toner having a thickness d1, a major axis size d2 and a minor axis size d3 which satisfy the relations of d2/d1=2-5 and d2/d3=1-1.5 and having an axis of easy magnetization in the its flat surface.
