PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of making appointment of a medical institution, a method of providing medical information, a medical institution system and a computer readable portable information storage medium capable of providing a medical service such as a high quality medical checkup service. SOLUTION: A past medical checkup result of a person who has received the checkup is enciphered and stored in the portable information storage medium 1. The medical checkup result is read out to a medical institution server 7 whose access is limited by authentication processing, which is utilized for carrying out interview by a doctor in the medical checkup. A service server 4 on the Internet 5 is accessed using access information stored in the portable information storage medium 1, and a medical checkup institution is selected from a list of the medical institutions stored there.
