PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display is provided to produce a liquid crystal display that has a wide viewing angle and high response speed and is driven with a low voltage. CONSTITUTION: The first, second and third insulating substrates(10,20,30) are arranged in parallel. The first thin film transistor is formed on the first substrate. The first pixel electrode(12) is connected to the first thin film transistor. The second thin film transistor(21) is formed on the second substrate. The second pixel electrode(22) is connected to the second thin film transistor. The first and second transparent electrodes(24,33) are respectively formed under the second and third substrates. Horizontal alignment films(15,35) are respectively formed on the first pixel electrode and under the second transparent electrode. Vertical alignment films(25,26) are respectively formed on the second pixel electrode and under the first transparent electrode. The first liquid crystal layer(100) is hybrid-aligned between the first and second substrates. The second liquid crystal layer(200) is hybrid-aligned between the second and third substrates. |
