PURPOSE: A retaining plate of a torque converter lock-up clutch for an automatic transmission is provided to reduce weight by improving a spring guide part of the retaining plate, to prevent abrasion of a spring, noise and vibration, to escape an interference between the spring and an edge part of a driven plate hook device, and to reduce a manufacturing cost. CONSTITUTION: A retaining plate of a torque converter lock-up clutch for an automatic transmission includes four separate sections. The retaining plate supports a circumference part of the outside of a spring by processing an inner diameter of a piston. The separate section of the retaining plate has three outside supporting parts(10), two inside supporting parts(11), a base part(13) being in contact with a piston part, a convex part(12). An outer separate section of a central part of the three outside supporting parts is double the width of both outer separate sections. The convex part has a central portion protruding to the outside between the supporting parts and the base part.
