A heating device including an electic resistance element (1, 2, 3) which is located in a cavity (4) in an insulation sleeve (5), wherein the sleeve (5) has a trhough-passing cylindrical passageway (4, 6) along which there is provided a slot (7) that extends through the insulation sleeve radially in relation to the passageway 86) and the cavity (4) and that is open to the surroundings, characterised in that the resistance element (1, 2, 3) is curved so as to include a number of legs in said cavity; in that the legs are not secured in the insulation sleeve (5); in that at least the lower leg, or the lower legs, (8; 9-11; 12-13) rests/rest against the inner wall of the cavity (4); and in that the conductors (14-15; 16-17; 18-19) of said elements face downwards when the heating device is oriented in its operating position.
