The material sheet (9) is seized on its edge and as it enters the storage device (6) it is deformed. The storage device extends underneath the print cylinder (1) which moves the sheets. The storage device has a contour (20) corresponding to the gusset region (8) of two interacting cylinders which supply the print matter, such as paper or card.
