The feed pump (supercharger) has a turbine wheel, a shaft and a pumpwheel with vanes. At least one vane (9), possibly the entire pumpwheel, is made from a different material from the shaft (6). The material in question is carbon fiber or graphite.. Other possibilities are glass fiber and mesophase carbon.
