<p>A toroidal continuously variable transmission, comprising an input disk and an output disk disposed on a same axis rotatably and opposedly to each other, a rolling element sandwiched between the input disk and the output disk and transmitting a torque between the input and output disks, and a hydraulic toque capacity control mechanism for limiting a torque capacity transmitted between the input and output disks by providing an axial holding force to the input and output disks, the torque capacity control mechanism further comprising a plurality of hydraulic pressure chambers (25, 29) and a piston (22) for separately acting an axial pressing force to the output disk (10).</p> |
