The present invention relates to a method for the production of an O-ring seal comprising the step that a rubber cord (R) of a selected dimension is placed in a measuring and cutting apparatus (4, 5, 6; 3), that a desired length of the cord (R) is measured and cut, that the cut cord (R) is transferred to a gluing unit (7) and arranged in this with the ends of the cord directed towards one another, that glue is applied at least to one of said ends and that the ends are then pressed together until the glue has set, following which a finished O-ring seal of the desired dimension has been produced, characterized in that said production is carried out by means of a portable measuring, cutting and gluing apparatus (4, 5, 6; 3; 7), so that production can be carried out in situ in the desired location, that said portable cutting and gluing unit (4, 5, 6; 7) is provided with adaptive means (300; 78A, 78B) so that O-ring seals can be produced using rubber cords (R) of different cross-sections, and that said measuring and cutting equipment (4, 5, 6; 3) is coupled together on production so that within a set interval a continuous length of said rubber cord (R) can be measured and cut. |
