Device comprises a superconductor flow pump (2) with a transformer having superconducting coils (213, 313) on the secondary side in a rectifier circuit having a controllable switch (15, 16); and an electromagnet (111). The superconducting coils are made from an HTc superconductor material and the switches have a switching path also made from an HTc superconductor material. A controllable heater is arranged in heat contact with the switching path. An Independent claim is also included for a process for operating the device. Preferred Features: The flow pump and the superconducting coils (11) of the magnet are arranged in a common cryostat (100). The switching path is formed as a thin film having a thickness of 0.2-2 mu m. The switch is made from Bi2212 or Bi2223 or LaSr-CuO.
