PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily set the bias magnetic field to be impressed to a magneto- optical disk in reproducing the disk at a high speed. SOLUTION: A temperature detecting section 21 is disposed near an optical pickup 13 for irradiating the magneto-optical disk 1 with a laser beam. The bias magnetic field to be impressed to the magneto-optical disk 1 in reproducing by a bias magnet 14 is set by a signal processing section 16 according to the temperature detected by the temperature detecting section 21.
