A releasable retaining means for a wing element movable to open and close an opening, comprising a first mounting means (1) on the wing with a first closed slot (3) and a second open slot (9), and second mounting means (12) on the frame of the opening having an open ended slot (13), and link means (14) connected at a first end to the first slot, at a second end to the slot in the second mounting means and at an intermediate position to the second open slot in the first mounting means, the mounting means adapted to allow slidable movement of the first end of said link means over a predetermined distance, which at a first end thereof restricts movement of said second end of said link means relative to said first mounting means which in turn restricts any further opening of said wing, and at said second end of said slot (13) which has an open end, allows release of said link means from said second mounting means, only when said wing is in a closed condition, closing said opening. |
