Either a first memory card (13) for storing subscriber's information indispensable for communication, such as information on contract with a communication carrier or information to identify the user as a subscriber or a second memory card (15) for mainly storing application programs is selectively connected to a mobile radio apparatus. When the second memory card is installed, a main control unit (16) transfers the subscriber's information stored in the first memory card to the second memory card. Based on the subscriber's information, the main control unit receives the incoming call signal from a base station and informs notice of an incoming call. To speak by telephone, the second memory card is replaced with the first memory card, which makes it possible to talk over the telephone. Therefore, it is possible to provide an expandable mobile radio apparatus that enables functions to be added at the user's request. |
