PURPOSE: A device for controlling timing belt tension is provided to reduce loss of driving power by reducing tension of a timing belt, and to prevent sliding of the timing belt over a cam pulley occurring by pressing the timing belt by a rotor at the time of sudden start or brake of a car. CONSTITUTION: A device for controlling timing belt tension includes a rotating shaft(10), a rotor(11), a hole(12) and an elastic member(20). The rotating shaft has a side mounted on a cylinder head(1b) and the other side protruding to an upper portion of a cam pulley(3). The rotor is formed on the rotating shaft and rotates in contact with a timing belt(8). The hole is formed in the cylinder head to vertically move the rotating shaft, and the rotating shaft is inserted into the hole. The elastic member is mounted on an upper end of the center of the rotating shaft and applies elasticity from the upper portion of the rotating shaft to a lower portion to make the rotor always be in contact with the timing belt by uniform power.
