PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive organism epiphytically adsorbing filter bed material suitable for epiphytically adsorbing microbes and remarkably contributable to cleaning of wastewater or dirty water. SOLUTION: This organism epiphytically adsorbing filter bed material is constituted of a molding which has large porosity and is obtained by scorching a thermosetting synthetic resin 1b-stuck glass chop to obtain a reinforced glass chop 1, adding chaff 2 and another thermosetting synthetic resin 3 to the chop 1 to mix them, scorching the mixture and molding it so that the carbonized chaff 2 is integrally bonded to the chop 1 while the resin 3 functions as a binder.
