PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shutter device for a building in which a fire shutter and a fire door can be installed next to each other without setting an intermediate stud. SOLUTION: The figure shows a shutter device for a building with an opening partially closed by a shutter 1 which is pulled down. A seat board 1b of the shutter 1 is pulled down along guide rails provided on both sides the opening of the width W. The width of shutter slats 1a (width = X) is made smaller than that of the opening (width = W); therefore, even if the shutter 1 is closed, the opening still has an aperture of the width Y (width = Y). After the shutter 1 is pulled down, a fire door 2 with an escape door 3 rotates to close the aperture. The fire door 2 is further provided with a latching apparatus at its side end. When the fire door 2 is closed, the latching apparatus latches the fire door 2 with the shutter slats on the side not in contact with the guide rails. Thus, the fire shutter 1 and the fire door 2 are united and the side ends thereof are thereby reinforced.
