PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the adhesive force to various kinds of papers, especially to a hardly bondable substrate such as coated paper and art paper without deteriorating various other performance necessary for solid adhesive. SOLUTION: The solid adhesive contains (a) an adhesive component, (b) a gel-forming substance, (c) water and (d) a compound of formula (R1 and R2 are each independently H or a lower alkyl; and R3 is H or a lower hydroxyalkyl).
