EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION(EGR) SYSTEM FOR DIESEL ENGINE

PURPOSE: An EGR system for a diesel engine is provided to reduce NOx by properly treating the operating condition of the engine, and to measure the exact amount of air supplied to the engine by using a MAP sensor. CONSTITUTION: An EGR tank(10) has an EGR port(9) communicated with a combustion chamber(1), and stores a predetermined amount of exhaust gas. A solenoid valve(11) opens/closes the EGR port(9) by a control signal output from an ECU(12). The ECU(12) opens the solenoid valve(11) in an expansion stroke and makes the EGR tank(10) to store the exhaust gas, closes the solenoid valve(11) in an exhaust stroke, and opens the solenoid valve(11) in a suction stroke and supplies the exhaust gas stored in the EGR tank(10) to the combustion chamber(1) with intake air.
