PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a natural ventilation system for building capable of enhancing the chimney effect of a vertical shaft to increase the natural ventilating performance without increasing the sectional shape of the vertical shaft, thereby reducing the air conditioning cost. SOLUTION: The ventilating vertical shaft 3 having a ventilating hole 6 at the upper end is provided on the outer wall part of a building 1 receiving the sunshine T from the sun. The circumferential wall of the vertical shaft 3 is formed of a transparent wall 8 transmitting the sunshine T and a heat accumulating wall 7 absorbing the transmitted sunshine T to raise the internal air temperature of the vertical shaft 3. The exhaust passage 23 of a building body 2 having an outside air intake port 24 is allowed to communicate with the inner part of the vertical shaft 3.
