PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a replacement method of a cutter bit for a safe, effective shield machine. SOLUTION: A copy cutter 4 on the periphery of a cutter head 3 is fitted and is moved from a set position on a skin plate 5 to the inner diameter of a penetration ring 2 to be fitted into a fitting slot provided in the inner diameter. After the fitting, the cutter head 3 rotates to rotate the penetration ring 2, thrusts is toward a face, and cuts an improved ground 10. After the cutting is stopped at a certain distance, the cutter head 3 is retreated into the body of the shield machine 1 by a cutter head slide unit 26, where a space 1 is provided between the face 12 and the cutter head 3 in the penetration ring 2. In the utilization of the space 11, the wear and damage status of a cutter bit fitted to the front of the cutter head is checked, and a replacement operation is carried out for the cutter bit confirmed as worn one. |
