PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water tank capable of stopping the leakage of a liquid without providing an additional lower water tank and capable of detecting the leakage of the liquid. SOLUTION: The water tank 100 has a plurality of plates 3 having recesses and protrusions, which are laid in a horizontal direction between a second bottom board 4 and bottom board 1 of the water tank 100 in such a manner that the plates 3 have gaps 23 among them. A space 10 is defined between each plate 3 and the bottom board 1 so that the respective spaces are continuous with one another in a horizontal direction. Further, a communicating pipe 6 is provided which makes communication between the continuous space 10 and the external side of the water tank 100. A liquid which may leak from the water tank 100 is caused to flow into the spaces 10 through the gaps 23 among the plates 3 to be temporarily accumulated therein. Since the leaking liquid thus accumulated is discharged to the external side through the communicating pipe 6, the leaking liquid can be prevented from permeating into the earth or the like through the bottom board 1 of the water tank 100 in the case where the liquid leaks from the water tank and, on the other hand, the leakage becomes detectable.
