PURPOSE: A process of preparing polyamide split yarn by reducing twisting of raw yarn and controlling the heat setting condition in a second godet roller to prevent heat fusion of yarns is provided, thereby producing polyamide yarn excellent in splittability with good workability. CONSTITUTION: The split yarn is prepared by melt spinning polyamide, oiling, drawing by passing through a first godet roller and second godet roller, heat setting in the second godet roller and then winding at a speed of 2,500 to 5,000m/min. The heat setting condition is as follows, (a) a turning number in a first godet roller and second godet roller satisfies the equation:0<=a-b<=1, (b) the turning direction is changed to a different direction to cause the twisted state applied in the first godet roller to be detwisted state and (c) the second godet roller satisfies the equation:80<=c<=140. In the equation, a is a turning number of the first godet roller, b is a number of the second roller and c is a temperature of the second godet roller.
