PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vegetation block capable of accelerating growth of plants. SOLUTION: A vegetation block 1 is laid on an installation surface of a sidewalk such as a promenade or on an installation surface along a sidewalk, and it is used for the purpose of vegetation for the sidewalk or around the sidewalk, and comprises a compost material such as tatami mat 2 or the like capable of turning into organic fertilizer by the erosion, an upper covering portion 3 consisting of a porous portion having a number of air gaps covering the upper portion of the compost material, a side covering portion 4 consisting of a porous portion having a number of air gaps covering the sides of the compost material, and a bottom covering portion 5 consisting of porous portion having a number of air gaps.
