PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a granulation apparatus having a simple structure and capable of being inexpensively manufactured and a granulation method using the same. SOLUTION: In the granulation method, drops (9) of a molten material 3 are dropped in a cooling liquid (1) and solidified by the cooling liquid (1) to manufacture particles (10). In the granulation apparatus, a hopper (4) storing the molten material (3) is provided at an upper part and a heating means (16) for holding the molten state of the molten material (3) is provided to the hopper (4) and an on-off means 6 for opening and closing the discharge port (5) of the hopper (4) permitting the molten material (3) to pass is provided and a cooling tank (8) storing the cooling liquid (1) is provided at a position where the drops (9) of the molten material (3) are dropped.
