PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical multiplaxer/demultiplexer, which has a simple structure and superior reproducibility and in which deterioration in crosstalk characteristic between adjacent signal channels is suppressed. SOLUTION: A gap which is filled with clad glass and has a thickness three times the width or the thickness of each channel waveguide (130) or larger, is provided between the slab waveguides (120, 140) and the channel waveguide (130). With this construction, deterioration in the crosstalk characteristic between adjacent signal channels is suppressed effectively to be the same level as the case where the slab waveguides (120, 140) and the channel waveguide (130) are connected directly. |
