PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotational speed sensor capable of detecting a wide rotational speed range throughout a wide temperature range under a strong magnetic field environment. SOLUTION: This rotational speed sensor is provided with a magnetic housing having a cylindrical hole, a magnetic first core extended coaxially with the hole toward an opening direction from a bottom of the hole, a coil wound around the first core, a flange part attached to an opening of the hole, a rotary shaft supported by the flange part via a bearing and coaxially inserted into the hole, and a second core coaxially fixed to the rotary shaft inside the hole and facing the first core via a gap. The first and second cores and the housing form a magnetic path and facing parts of the first and second cores have uneven shapes for changing the gap by rotation of the rotary shaft.
