1314608 Tables, brackets TACHIKAWA SPRING CO Ltd 11 Sept 1970 [11 Sept 1969] 43606/70 Headings A4B and A4H [Also in Divisions B7 and F2] A gas-bag table has a bag 1 capable of being inflated by a gas, e. g. air, to provide a substantially flat table surface 8, and means 2 for attaching the bag in a vehicle, e.g. to a seat 4, adjacent the place to be occupied by a passenger, means for sealing the gas in the bag, and means 3 for automatically deflating the bag on sudden increase in pressure in the bag, or on sudden acceleration or deceleration of the vehicle. The deflation may be achieved by provision of a "weak spot" which may be burst by pressure, or by a weight moved by its inertia out of register with a hole which communicates with the interior of the bag. The bag may be inflated at 5 via check valve 6, and normal deflation may be effected by valve 7, to enable the table to be folded into the position shown in Fig. 2. The table may be attached to the seat by hooks 2, and adjustable legs Fig. 20 (not shown) may be provided between the bag and the back of seat 4. |
