PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning agent for a drain channel capable of removing slime adhering to the inner wall surface of a drain pipe having a sink basket arranged therein and capable of sufficiently removing slime even if the cleaning agent far the drain channel is embedded in garbage or the like. SOLUTION: A chemical agent 21 and a float 22 for floating the chemical agent 21 are housed in a container 23. Garbage is allowed to flow in the sink basket 40 and, when the drain holes 40b of the sink basket 40 are closed and hot water is accumulated in the sink basket 40, the cleaning agent for the drain channel floats to the surface of the hot water accumulated in the sink basket 40 by the buoyancy of the float 22. Hot water is introduced into the container through the center hole 30 and slots 31 and 32 of the container, and this hot water is reacted with the chemical agent and a slime removing effective component formed by this reaction is discharged from the unclosed drain holes 40b.
