PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a radial piston motor for driving a cutter head and a shield excavator having the motor, in which the peak pressure of the radial piston motor is absorbed, the radial piston motor tending to generate the peak pressure generated in a drain chamber on the start of rotation, so that the occurrence of damage can be prevented, and a stabilized output torque can be obtained by keeping the hydraulic pressure balance on the flow-in-and-out-side constant. SOLUTION: The radial piston motor 17 for driving the cutter head supported on the front of a shield excavator 13 has a buffer means 18 for absorbing the peak pressure tending to be generated in the drain chamber on the start of rotation. The buffer means 18 includes an air damper, spring damper, and other various buffering means consisting of a combination of the two dampers, of which the extension, contraction, and elasticity are utilized, wherein the buffer means with a simple structure can be arranged directly in the drain chamber 6 or on the outside of it. |
