PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape printer wherein accuracy in attachment of a sensor switch for detecting a kind of a tape cassette can be enhanced and the sensor switch can be individually replaced. SOLUTION: A sleeve 6B holding a switch terminal shaft 6A provided to the sensor switch 6 for detecting the kind of the tape cassette in the tape printer is fitted to a through-hole 19 of a sensor switch storing section 18 and a frame 6C of the sensor switch 6 is abutted to a wall face 18A of the sensor switch storing section 18. A tip projection 20A of a switch fixing hook 20 is engaged with a rear end section of the sensor switch 6 to hold the sensor switch 6 so that the sensor switch is not taken off.
