PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bar bending machine capable of automatically bending a bar to an optional shape. SOLUTION: The bending machine of this invention consists of a bar conveying mechanism 20 which receives and conveys the bar T, a bar gripping mechanism 30 which grips the bar T conveyed by the bar conveying mechanism 20, a bar shape data collecting mechanism 40 which collects the measurement data of the whole shape of the bar T being gripped by the bar gripping mechanism 30, a control mechanism which determines places to be heated on the basis of the measurement data from the bar shape data collecting mechanism 40, and a robot arm mechanism 60 which guides a high frequency induction heating source to the places to be heated by means of the control mechanism.
