PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an inexpensive laser diode sub-mount that does not cause light emitting characteristic failure of a laser diode. SOLUTION: This laser diode sub-mount is constituted of a substrate having a metallized surface, flux and solder pieces put on the metallized surface of the substrate and fixed to the surface by heating, and an LD element which is positioned predecided position on the metallized surface by means of a jig provided above the flux and solder pieces fixed to the metallized surface and fixed to the metallized surface by heating.
