PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a moisture retention composition for cosmetic, with which moisture retention can be provided without causing a sense of stickiness by adding the composition to other cosmetic raw materials in a process for producing a cosmetic such as cream, milky lotion, etc., and which is usable by after addition without requiring a heating operation. SOLUTION: This moisture retention composition for cosmetic, having a reduced sense of stickiness occurring in a single use of polyglyceryl isostearate by adding the polyglyceryl isostearate, an ester between a fatty acid and an aliphatic alcohol, a surfactant having a HLB value in a specific range, etc., to water.
