PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new industrial material (especially a building material) utilizing a property of charcoal (carbon). SOLUTION: The porous compact consists of carbide and/or dry distilled material 30-70 wt.% and one or more kinds of ceramics 70-30 wt.% selected from the group consisting of mica, feldspar and scapolite and a group of zeolite.
