PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrode needle for treating a parenchymatous tumor by high-frequency thermotherapy. SOLUTION: The electrode needle is equipped with a hollow guide needle 11 and a high-frequency active filament 12 connectable to a high-frequency generator and axially movable between a non-active position perfectly retracted into the guide needle and an active position where the distal part 13 of the filament is projected from the terminal part of the guide needle. The shape of the distal part 13 of the filament is linear when the filament is present at the non-active position and becomes spiral when the filament is present at the active position.
