PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating material for forming a transparent electroconductive film which can obtain clear transparent images capable of adjusting the necessary color tone while securing the transparency, electroconductivity, and the surface hardness which are required for the display surface of a display and the like. SOLUTION: The coating material for forming a transparent electroconductive film is obtained by mixing at least antimony-containing tin oxide having formed secondary particles having an average secondary particle diameter of 20 nm to 100 nm, a pigment having formed secondary particles having an average secondary particle diameter of not greater than 200 nm, and a silicon alkoxide or a partial hydrolyzate of the silicon alkoxide.
