<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-piece solid golf ball having a high performance, which suppresses an undesirable increase of a spin at the time of a driver shot without spoiling the repulsiveness of the ball, has a high flying performance, and at the same time, is excellent in controlling property based on the retention of the spin of a hit ball by a short iron. SOLUTION: For this multi-piece solid golf ball, an elastic solid core of a rubber material is covered with a resin cover of at least three layers. In such a multi-piece solid golf ball, the core has a hardness which deforms by 1.6 mm or more when a load of 294N (30 kgf) is applied. In the meantime, for the cover, the Shore D hardness of a cover internal layer being adjacent to the core is 55 or higher. Also, the Shore D hardness of a cover external layer equipped with numerous dimples on the external surface is 40 to 55. A cover intermediate layer being pinched by the cover internal and external layers has the Shore D hardness A of 8 to 50, and a thickness B of 1.2 mm or lower. At the same time, the Shore hardness A and the thickness B satisfy a relationship of A/B>=35.</p> |
