PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new handle structure which can prevent danger that person's fingers are pinched between sliding doors or between the sliding door and a wall when the sliding door is opened, and which is constituted so as to be also properly applicable to the sliding door outside the interlocking sliding door. SOLUTION: A handle 1 capable of preventing a hand from being pinched is provided with a main body fitted on at least one side surface of an end of the sliding door A1, a cover 3 capable of protruding from/retracting into the main body and turning on one side of the main body, which serves as a supporting shaft and is take as a front side during the opening of the sliding door A1, and an urging means for turning and urging the cover 3 in a direction in which the cover 3 is constantly protruded. At least an end 3c of the cover 3 is capable of expansion and contraction. The end 3c is contracted constitutionally by abutting on a bottom surface of the main body when the cover 3 is pressed against urging force of the urging means. In this case, an inside 2d of a side surface, facing the end 3c, of the main body is widely exposed to be capable of easily performing an operation for closing the sliding door A1 by getting his/her fingers caught in the inside 2d.
