摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate and purify tantalum and niobium and obtain stably those at a high-purity in a relatively simple process with reducing the operational cost and the cost for wastewater treatment. SOLUTION: The method of separating and purifying tantalum and niobium comprises (a) a process of purifying tantalum which comprises the first process wherein tantalum is extracted into an organic solvent containing a phosphoryl-based extracting agent with priority by bringing the organic solvent into contact with a tantalum/ niobium containing aqueous solution of raw material, the second process wherein the organic solvent after extraction is washed with a sulfuric acid of 0.1-4 mol/L, the third process wherein tantalum contained in the obtained organic solvent is inversely extracted with an aqueous solvent, and (b) a process of purifying niobium which comprises the fourth process wherein niobium is extracted into an organic solvent by contact of an phosphoryl-based organic solvent to be added separately and independently of the (a) process with the aqueous solution of raw material after extraction of tantalum in the first process, the fifth process wherein the organic solvent after extraction is washed with a sulfuric acid of 2.5-10 mol/L, and the sixth process wherein niobium contained in the obtained organic solvent is inversely extracted with an aqueous solution.
