PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an ultraviolet light screening agent with which ultraviolet light can be stably screened and which is produced from natural materials as starting substances and has safety to the skin. SOLUTION: This ultraviolet light screening agent comprises coral sand powder and/or treated powder obtained by decarboxylating coral sand powder and powder of cocoon shell of wild silkworm as main components. The coral sand and the cocoon shell strongly screen ultraviolet light. They are both natural materials and can be safely used.
