PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an aspartate proteinase family(ASP1) polypeptide and a polynucleotide, to provide a method for producing the ASP1 polypeptide by a recombination method and to provide a method for using them in disease treatment and diagnostic assay. SOLUTION: The former polynucleotide comprises a nucleotide sequence which is at least 80% identical in the whole length to a nucleotide sequence encoding ASP1 polypeptide of a human-derived sequence and encodes a polypeptide having ASP1 polypeptide activity or a nucleotide sequence complementary to the nucleotide sequence. |
