PURPOSE: A clamping apparatus is provided to height the reusable value of a base beam and to increase restricting contact force of a steel plate by separably constructing the base beam, a locator and a clamper, and providing the clamper and locator with spring ball. CONSTITUTION: A clamping apparatus comprises a base beam(1), a locator(9) and a clamper(19). A cylinder(3) which is operated by means of pneumatics or hydraulics is hingedly mounted on one side of the base beam(1) via a hinge pin(5). A steel plate(7) rests on the locator(9). The locator(9) is detachably attached to the base beam(1) via a connecting plate(13) having a plurality of bolt holes(11), with fastening bolts(15). The clamper(19) is hingedly mounted on one side of the locator(9) via a hinge pin(17). The clamper(19) is in splined engagement with a hinge beam(21) which is hingedly fastened to one side of the locator(9), and fastened to a mounting plate having a plurality of bolt holes and located outside the mounting plate, with fastening bolts. The hinge beam(21) is hingedly fastened to the tip of a piston rod(29) of the cylinder(3), hingedly operates by the operation of the cylinder(3), and thereby restricts the movement of the steel plate(7) together with the locator(9). A spring ball as contact force strengthening member is provided on each of restricting surfaces of the hinge beam and the clamper(19).
