<p>The present invention relates to the separation of molybdenum contained in sulphuric solutions. This process is characterised in that: a) the said sulphuric solution is brought into contact with an organic liquid phase containing, as extraction agent, at least one compound having 8-hydroxyquinoline as the active group, b) the said phase laden with molybdenum is de-extracted using an aqueous alkaline solution.
